| Eels Creek Canoe Trip, Peterborough, Ontario / And then disaster struck
I was very conscious as I hit the rock and canoe slewed sideways on to the current that I didn't want this $1400 boat to wrap around the rocks. We really weren't supposed to be doing this and I couldn't get the boat to lean downstream (even half standing and pulling) so I half fell/half jumped out so that I could roll the canoe upstream. My first swim in Canada (and very refreshing it was too). Luckily it was a warm day and my clothes dried quickly.
